The 2nd Optimmunize conference was held in 2022 at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense.

In 2020, just before the COVID-19 lockdowns, Optimmunize organized the first-ever conference on the non-specific effects of vaccines. The event was hosted at the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridge, UK. After the conference, Optimmunize members participated in a viewpoint article in Nature Reviews Immunology. In connection with the conference, the journal Vaccine published a special issue on the topic.

In February 2017, long-time and new Optimmunizers gathered in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the 4th Optimmunize workshop.

In October 2015, the first satellite meeting of Optimmunize was held in Bissau, where the Bandim Health Project is based.

The 3rd Optimmunize workshop was held in November 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Optimmunizers gathered for the second time in Copenhagen, Denmark, in August 2012. A proceedings paper was published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases after the workshop.

The first ever Optimmunize workshop was organized in Copenhagen in January 2010, supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Following the workshop, a report titled ”Sex differences in the vaccine-specific and non-targeted effects of vaccines” was published in the journal Vaccine.
